Bush | Everything Zen Live On Jon Stewart ’94

It was the early 90’s and Bush hadn’t yet released their major label monolith grunge bible Everything Zen. On a relatively small cable show, the UK band made it’s television debut in the wee hours of the night to those with the stamina to stay up and capture history in the making

While Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Alice In Chains were ruling the Alternative world, a new band was harnessing their energy to takeover the world This was a keystone performance unseen by many that would promise big things later to come. If you were l ucky enough to have watched this then unknown band live you were one of the few to which hope was offered in the recent wake of Cobain’s suicide.

Gavin Rosedale and co. show up confident as hell and rip through a perfect performance of “Everything Zen.” This was the first time America heard the nonsensical lyrics “there’s no sex in your violence” repeated over and over, and somehow got primed to fall in love.
